Cathy M. Mattax

Senior Vice President, Member Education & Training

 

Cathy M. Mattax is Senior Vice President, Member Education and Training. She held the same title at NASD, which consolidated with NYSE Member Regulation to form FINRA in 2007. Ms. Mattax oversees FINRA's industry education and training programs.

Ms. Mattax began her tenure at NASD in August 2002 in the organization's Regulatory Services and Operations Division. She became NASD's Senior Vice President of Operations in January 2005. Prior to joining NASD, Ms. Mattax was a Director at Fannie Mae, where she served in a variety of capacities. Most recently, she led strategy, product and business development for Fannie Mae's technology products. She also served as chief of staff to Fannie Mae's CIO, directed enterprise architecture activities and led internal consulting services.

Ms. Mattax's experience prior to Fannie Mae includes several years as a management consultant with Accenture, Nolan, Norton & Co. and KPMG Peat Marwick. Her consulting experience included benchmarking, business process reengineering, change management and technology strategy development for leading financial services organizations.

Ms. Mattax graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Administrative Sciences/Operations Research and received her M.B.A. from the University of Houston.
