As CAO, he provides strategic and operational oversight for FINRA's real estate, purchasing, telecommunications and affinity groups nationwide and overseas. He also oversees Human Resources, Security Administration, Government Affairs and Corporate Communications.

He joined the SEC in 1993 and provided the Commission with a wide variety of legal counsel, communications services and legislative analysis. Prior to his position with the SEC, Mr. Jones founded and operated his own consulting firm. From 1989 to 1991, he was the communications director and press secretary for former Senator Bill Bradley (D-NJ), where he served as the Senator's chief spokesman and managed all of the offices' media relations and communications programs.

Before that, Mr. Jones served as public relations director for the March of Dimes, worked for the international public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, and was a partner at the law firm of Hayes & White.

He also is affiliated with the Board of Trustees of Boston College and is on the Board of Advisors at Boston College Law School. He is a member of the Bars of the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
