About FINRA Dispute Resolution

National Arbitration and Mediation Committee

The National Arbitration and Mediation Committee (NAMC) includes representatives from the public, the securities industry and the arbitrators and mediators serving in FINRA’s Dispute Resolution forum. The majority of the NAMC’s members, including its Chair, are public representatives. This diverse composition ensures a neutral approach in the administration of Dispute Resolution’s forum—promoting fairness to all parties.

The NAMC actively participates in key aspects of FINRA's Dispute Resolution forum, including:

  • recruiting, qualifying, training and evaluating arbitrators and mediators;
  • evaluating existing rules, regulations and procedures; and
  • recommending appropriate changes to our rules, regulations and procedures to govern FINRA’s conduct of all arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution matters.
