Mediator Recruitment Information
View the links below to find out how to become a mediator, how to obtain a mediator application, specialized recruitment information, and more.
Commitment to Diversity
Members of the Dispute Resolution Roster of Neutrals are carefully selected from a broad cross-section of people, diverse in culture, profession, and background. Our goal is to recruit mediators and arbitrators from different backgrounds, such as educators, accountants, medical professionals and others, as well as lawyers and securities professionals. FINRA is committed to diversifying the panel of neutrals. Many people, particularly minorities, are unfamiliar with FINRA and its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program. FINRA has been dedicated to eliminating this information gap through aggressively reaching out to minorities. Within the last several years, FINRA Dispute Resolution reached out to several minority groups in an effort to recruit new candidates to the neutral roster. FINRA encourages minority membership organizations and professional alumni organizations to be diligent in their efforts to recruit minorities to join the expanding field of ADR. These groups provide leadership in resolving diversity issues and offer opportunities for minority employees to grow professionally.
What are Recruitment Workshops?
The recruitment workshop is an opportunity for interested organizations to familiarize themselves with Alternative Dispute Resolution, primarily arbitration and mediation as well as the FINRA Dispute Resolution program. The workshops involve a FINRA representative discussing the Dispute Resolution program and the process to become a mediator. In many instances FINRA arbitrator or mediator will be in attendance to share his/her experience. If your organization is interested in having a mediation Recruitment Workshop contact Julie Crotty at (212) 858-4341 or send an email.
What is an Open House?
An Open House is a function held at the FINRA facilities where interested individuals are invited to participate in networking and discussions about Alternative Dispute Resolution at FINRA. Attendance is limited and people will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
