October 2009 is FINRA Mediation Settlement Month

Offering Significantly Reduced Mediation Costs

FINRA Dispute Resolution invites you to join us in celebrating the benefits of mediation during our annual Mediation Settlement Month throughout October by taking advantage of our significantly reduced mediation prices. Our aim is to encourage more parties to experience the benefits of mediation for the first time and to reinforce its value and effectiveness to those who have benefited from mediation before. Print out our Mediation Settlement Month flyer with details about the annual event for your own use or to share with a client.

The Reduced Fees

If you have an arbitration scheduled with FINRA or a dispute that you would like to resolve through the assistance of FINRA, you can take advantage of Mediation Settlement Month by arranging a mediation at significantly reduced prices. Normally, the parties pay a standard administrative fee for mediations, along with hourly rates to the mediator. During the month of October, FINRA will cut its mediation filing fees in half. Throughout October only, the half price Mediation Settlement Month rates will range from $0 to $150 for customers or associated persons and from $0 to $250 for firms, depending on the size and types of cases.

Additionally, FINRA mediators are offering the following discounted fixed rates for mediation sessions throughout October:

    • Cases with an amount in controversy up to $25,000 are only $100/party for a 4-hour mediation
    • Cases with an amount in controversy from $25,000.01 to $100,000 are only $200/party for a 4-hour mediation
    • Cases with an amount in controversy over $100,000 are only $500/party for an 8-hour mediation

We anticipate another highly successful Mediation Settlement Month. We experience as much as a 40% increase in cases that agree to mediate through FINRA during the promotion. Mediation Settlement Month will be held in all FINRA Hearing Locations.
