OATS for NMS Transition to Production Environment

On Monday October 17, 2011, the OATS for NMS Release will be live in the OATS Production environment and the legacy code will be formally retired.   Rejection details and detailed data for unmatched records related to OATS data submitted and processed on October 13, 2011 and October 14, 2011 will be impacted as follows:


Rejection Details and Reject Repair

  • OATS data submitted for OATS processing date Wednesday, October 12, 2011 will be validated against the current legacy format and any resulting rejections will be returned to firms in the legacy format by 8 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2011.
  • OATS data submitted for OATS processing dates Thursday, October 13, 2011and Friday October 14, 2011 will be validated against the current legacy format, but any resulting rejections will be returned to firms in the new OATS for NMS format.
  • Any rejections returned in the new OATS for NMS code MUST be repaired in the new OATS for NMS code.  To help ensure a smooth transition, FINRA will not make rejections from OATS processing date Thursday October 13, 2011 available until after 5 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011.

Any outstanding unrepaired rejections as of Saturday 10/15/11 at 5 a.m., regardless of the date originally processed (e.g., outstanding rejection from 9/30), must be repaired in the new OATS for NMS format.  Firms and OSOs should also note that if an outstanding repair requires the resubmission of a previously accepted new type order, the new type order must be resubmitted in the new OATS for NMS format.


Unmatched Route and Unmatched Execution Reports Feedback

  • Unmatched details for OATS processing date Wednesday, October 12, 2011 will be returned in the current legacy format.
  • Unmatched details for OATS processing dates Thursday, October 13, 2011 and Friday, October 14, 2011 will be returned in the new OATS for NMS format.

 

Detail Data Availability Beginning October 17, 2011
 

Rejection Details
As of Monday, October 17, 2011, firms and OSOs will be able to view up to 50,000 rejection details via the OATS Web Interface.  Details for rejections in excess of 50,000 will be available via the FTP/IFT server file of the submitting OSO.  The Summary Statistics section of the OATS Web Interface will include all rejections statistics without limitation.
