International Test Centers Policies & Procedures

Test/CE session administration procedures at all international locations are, for the most part, the same as for tests/CE sessions administered domestically. The few exceptions to "standard" procedure are as follows:

  • Filing an Application to Test

In order to schedule a candidate appointment, the firm must have filed an application to test for the candidate through Web CRD.

  • Candidate ID Requirement

To gain admission to an international test center, the candidate must provide two (2) valid forms of personal identification - each with the candidate's signature, and at least one (1) form a government-issued ID with a photo.

Examples of valid photo identification include: a valid driver's license, a military identification, a passport, or a similar type of official document issued by a government agency. The second form of identification can be anything that contains the candidate's signature: work ID, credit card, etc.

  • Use of U.S.-Issued Social Security Numbers

If a candidate is being scheduled into an international location, and has been issued a U.S. Social Security Number (SS#) that has been entered into Web CRD, then the SS# must be used as the candidate's primary ID number when scheduling the appointment.

If a candidate does not have a U.S.-issued SS #, then the candidate's CRD Number will be used as the candidate's primary ID number.

Firms should provide both the SS# and the CRD # to the candidate (if both exist) when notifying the candidate that a window has been opened to sit for a test and/or Continuing Education session.

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)

Candidates who speak English as a second language (ESL) and are taking sessions at an international location do not automatically receive additional time for their session. If a candidate requires additional time due to ESL, the request for additional time must be made when the appointment is scheduled. Upon arrival at the test center, they must provide a letter from the firm verifying the ESL condition as is required in domestic centers (see Special Arrangements Procedures).

  • International Delivery Surcharge

A registration fee surcharge of $15.00 for international delivery will be charged to the candidate's firm upon completion of the session.
