The FINRA Institute at Wharton
Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) Program Scholarship
Each year the FINRA Institute at Wharton CRCP program Scholarship is awarded to three industry professionals from small firms—those with less than 150 registered representatives. The scholarship covers full tuition and room and board for the entire program.
The FINRA Institute at Wharton CRCP Program—which is delivered through the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania—provides compliance, legal and regulatory professionals with an in-depth understanding of the foundation, theory and practical application of securities laws and regulation.
The program includes two non-consecutive weeklong residential courses, plus extensive pre-course readings and casework. Participants who successfully complete the program are designated Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professionals by the FINRA Institute at Wharton. CRCP designees are expected to complete continuing education to remain current on compliance topics, rules and regulations, and emerging issues in the securities industry.
In order to be eligible for the Small Firm CRCP Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Scholarships are awarded to both the individual and the firm, and are not transferable. Therefore, if a scholarship recipient leaves his or her firm for any reason, the CRCP scholarship is forfeited by both the individual and firm. If the individual moves to another small firm, the individual may reapply for a scholarship during the next scholarship selection period.
A subcommittee of the FINRA Small Firm Advisory Board (SFAB) selects scholarship recipients through a blind selection process. As such, the subcommittee does not have access to identifying information, such as the applicant's name or the name of the applicant's firm. The subcommittee considers the applicant's experience in the financial services industry, as well as his or her compliance responsibilities in the overall structure of the firm, as described through the applicant's written statement. All applicants are notified when their applications have been received by FINRA, along with more information regarding the selection timeline.
