Letter to FINRA Members

July 31, 2008

Dear FINRA Member,

As you may know, FINRA recently announced that it will offer scholarships to individuals employed by small firms to attend the FINRA Institute at Wharton Certified Regulatory and Compliance ProfessionalTM (CRCPTM) Program.

By way of background, the CRCP Program is an intensive executive education program for legal and compliance professionals in the financial services industry that FINRA delivers through the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Graduates of the program earn the designation of CRCP. More information about the CRCP Program is available at www.finra.org/EducationPrograms/FINRAInstitute.

FINRA will offer three scholarships each year beginning in 2009. Individuals who apply for a scholarship must be registered representatives employed at a firm with 150 or fewer registered representatives. In addition, the applicant's job function must include compliance and/or regulatory responsibilities. Applications for the 2009 scholarships must be received no later than October 3, 2008.

A subcommittee of the FINRA Small Firm Advisory Board (SFAB) will select scholarship recipients through blind selection, meaning the subcommittee will not have access to any identifying information such as the applicant's name or the name of the applicant's firm. For more information, including the application form, please visit our Web page or call FINRA at (301) 590-6500.

Sincerely,
