RCA – June, 1997 – Ask The Analyst – Mutual Funds

Q: With respect to seminar presenta¬tions by mutual fund wholesalers, does the sales material used (i.e., story boards, scripts, handouts, etc.) need to be approved by a principal of the NASD member firm and filed with the Advertising Regulation Department?

A: Yes. If the wholesaler presents the seminar to the general public, then the sales material must be approved internally by a registered principal and filed with the Advertising Regulation Department within 10 days of first use.
