SEC Approves Proposed Additions to the List of Rules Appropriate for Disposition as Minor Violations Of Rules and for The Establishment of Late Fees for Certain Filings and Reports
On July 3, 2001, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved rule changes proposed by the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD®) that afford the NASD more flexibility in responding to certain technical or minor violations of NASD rules. The NASD is expanding upon the list of rule violations that can be resolved through its Minor Rule Violation Plan (MRVP) and is establishing late fees for certain filings and reports.
