Updated Information for Former Customers of Lehman Brothers, Inc. On September 19, 2008, on an application by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York entered an Order:
Since September 19, 2008, the Trustee has facilitated the transfer of over 135,000 LBI retail customer accounts to Neuberger Berman, LLC (through its clearing firm, Ridge Clearing & Outsourcing Solutions, Inc.) and Barclays Capital. In addition, on October 7, 2008, the Trustee issued protocols governing the transfer of LBI prime brokerage customer accounts to other firms.
With the permission of the Bankruptcy Court, on December 1, 2008, the Trustee published notice of the liquidation proceeding and mailed copies of the notice and claims materials to customers and other creditors of LBI. Customers who are still owed cash and/or securities by LBI must file a claim with the Trustee for them.
