FINRA Trading Activity Fee Initial Rates

Pursuant to the provisions of Schedule A, Section 2 [Member Regulation Fees] to FINRA's By-Laws, FINRA announces the following initial rates for Section 2(b) [Trading Activity Fee] effective October 1, 2002:

 

  • Each member shall pay to FINRA $0.0001 per share for each sale of a covered security.
  • Each member shall pay to FINRA $0.002 per contract for each sale of an option.
  • Each member shall pay to FINRA $0.08 for each round turn transaction of a security future.

The initial rates above incorporate the Phase-In for Year 1 and will be revised in Year 2 and Year 3 to take into account the remaining fee reduction. In addition, FINRA will analyze the rates on an ongoing basis to ensure recovery of its member regulatory costs.
