3230(c)(3) Clearing Notifications
NASD Rule 3230(c)(3) requires that each year, by no later than July 31, each clearing member firm notify in writing the introducing member firm's chief executive and compliance officers of the reports offered to the introducing member firm pursuant to 3230(c)(1) and the reports requested by or supplied to the introducing member firm as of such date. Rule 3230(c)(3) also requires the clearing member firm to provide a copy of the notice to the introducing member firm's DEA.
In light of the pending July 31, 2006 compliance deadline, FINRA Member Regulation Department has centralized the 3230(c)(3) notification submission process, which includes new functionality that allows clearing member firms to submit electronic Adobe PDF files of notifications through this web page.
Clearing member firms are now able to submit to FINRA the required notifications and list of reports requested by or supplied to the introducing member firm as of such date in any one of these two ways in compliance with the rule:
