FINRA's webcasts are provided at no cost to brokers and other securities firm personnel who are interested in learning more about industry issues. These brief online tutorials are available on-demand and take less than 10 minutes to complete. This monthly report allows training managers to view and download a list of employees at their firm who have registered for and viewed a FINRA webcast.
Accessing the Report In order to receive this report through the Report Center, your firm must be a FINRA member with access to the Report Center.
In order for webcast viewing activity to be accurately tracked, it is critical that you instruct your users to fill out the registration form that appears prior to viewing the webcast. When they fill out this information, they must include your firm's CRD number (not the 7-digit number assigned to each registered representative). If this information is not included, the user will not be included on your firm's report.
The Webcast Usage Report is published on a monthly basis, and contains a list of the individuals who completed the webcast registration information (including the firm's CRD number) and viewed any portion of a webcast during that month. All individuals who register and enter their firm's CRD number will have their activity displayed in the report for the month that they viewed the webcast.
If an individual viewed a webcast but does not appear on the report, he/she has most likely either entered an incorrect firm CRD number or left the Firm CRD Number field of the registration screen blank. The individual should update his/her registration information and view the webcast again, in order to appear on the firm's report for the following month. Report Center users who have not opted out of notifications will receive an email indicating when new Webcast Usage reports have been published. The table below provides a reference description for all of the elements found in the Webcast Usage Report.
Note: The viewer data contained in the report is derived directly from information entered by the viewer during registration and as a result FINRA cannot attest to the accuracy of the data. Use of the Webcast Usage Report does not ensure that the Firm will be found to comply with any FINRA or other related regulation.
