Reminder: Testing MBS Specified Pool and SBA-Backed ABS Information

As a reminder, beginning Monday, June 24, through Friday, July 19, 2013, FINRA will allow firms to test upcoming changes to securitized products trade reporting and dissemination. FINRA will begin disseminating transactions in agency pass-through mortgage-backed securities that are traded as MBS specified pool transactions and SBA-backed ABS that are traded either as specified pool transactions or TBA. Additional details regarding new functionality and testing is detailed below.

Testing Details—NTF

Authorized firms can test the product modifications via the NASDAQOMX Testing Facility (NTF):

  • enter MBS Specified Pool and SBA-backed ABS test transactions
  • enter transactions that require factor (as per Regulatory Notice 13-15) in asset-backed securities (ABS) (except ABS traded To be Announced (TBA) securities)
  • process all test transactions for MBS and SBA-backed specified pool securities in TRAQS and SPDS
  • download the Securitized Products Application Programming Interface file for MBS closing prices and MBS reference data

The IP and port information for connecting to SPDS in the NTF environment is listed below. Note: Testing in the NTF between June 24 and July 19, 2013, will be free of charge.
