Test Broadcast IP Multicast Channels
Beginning Monday, July 9, 2018, FINRA will introduce dedicated test broadcast IP multicast channels to be used for evening format testing for all its data feeds—BTDS, ATDS, 144A, SPDS, SPDS-144A, TDDS 2.0 and BBDS. FINRA will discontinue disseminating test data content via the production data feed channels once the dedicated test broadcast IP multicast channels are implemented. This initiative will protect data feed recipients against the possibility of the comingling of test data with live market activity.
IP Feed Impact
The production BTDS, ATDS, 144A, SPDS, SPDS-144A, TDDS 2.0 and BBDS dissemination multicast groups will continue to publish market data until each data feeds’ “End of Transmission” cut off. After the cut off, no messages will be published over these multicast groups. Data feed recipients will receive application test data over the new test broadcast IP multicast groups during the weeknight testing period (normally between 9:05 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET). See the Data Feeds IP Addresses tables:
FINRA will introduce new dedicated multicast groups named “Test Broadcast” channels. The channels will be defined and provisioned in the existing FINRA network for all approved direct data recipients. The new multicast groups will be supported via “A (Primary)” and “B (Back-Up)” multicast groups. To receive streaming data via the new IP Addresses direct data recipients should work with their network providers to ensure configurations and access are functioning.
Format and Content
Starting July 9, 2018, software application test data will be published over the new multicast groups. FINRA will discontinue sending test data across the current production channels after July 6, 2018.

New IP Channel Tests
FINRA will sponsor unsupported user tests on Saturday, June 2, 2018, and Saturday, June 16, 2018. Data feed clients are invited to connect and receive data via the new test broadcast IP multicast channels during the tests. FINRA will send reminder technical notices as the testing and production dates approach.
