Member Application Program (Firms)
How to Become a Member of FINRA provides basic guidance for applicants preparing to seek membership in FINRA, including a description of the various filing and qualification requirements, and the admission standards, that must be satisfied before FINRA membership is granted.
FINRA requires firms to file a continuing membership application (CMA) whenever they seek to expand or implement new ways of doing business. Firms also must file an application whenever they seek to modify or remove restrictions previously imposed in a membership agreement (a membership agreement change). This process helps protects investors by ensuring that a firm’s supervisory and compliance systems, policies and procedures keep pace with such changes. Learn about the core requirements for making organizational or operational changes in this section of the Web site, which includes the Continuing Membership Guide.
