Board of Governors Meetings

The FINRA Board of Governors met September 17-18 in New York. It was the first meeting for its two newly elected industry Governors: new Large Firm Governor J. Bradford Eichler, chief operating officer at Stephens Inc., and new Small Firm Governor Erin Baskett, chief executive officer of Sine Qua Non Capital LLC.

The FINRA Board of Governors is holding its third meeting of the year this week.

The FINRA Board of Governors met recently in Washington, and I am pleased to share some updates. The Board approved:

The FINRA Board of Governors held its first meeting of the year last week, and I am pleased to share some updates from our discussions, including the election of a new Board Chair. Eric Noll is stepping down as Chair to pursue an opportunity that would conflict with his role as a Public Governor. To succeed him, the Board elected Scott A. Curtis, who has served as a Governor and Large Firm Representative since 2023.

The FINRA Board of Governors will hold its first meeting of the year next week. As the capital markets landscape continues to evolve through new products, new technologies and new services being offered to investors, the Board will discuss how FINRA should evolve as well to support innovative and vibrant markets and capital formation while protecting investors and safeguarding market integrity.

The FINRA Board approved FINRA’s 2025 budget and a rulemaking item related to outside business activities and private securities transactions, and appointed new members to the SFAC and NAC.

The FINRA Board announced two newly appointed Industry Governors, received an update on FINRA’s Enforcement Digital Transformation and continued discussions around FINRA’s long-term financial planning.

During its May 8-9 meeting, the FINRA Board of Governors approved FINRA’s 2023 Annual Financial Report and appointed new members to FINRA’s Advisory Committees.

During its March 6 and 7 meeting, the FINRA Board of Governors approved a rule proposal to lower the age at which parties qualify for accelerated arbitration processing and approved the allocation of prior-year fine monies.

The FINRA Board of Governors is holding its final meeting of the year, with Board committees giving consideration to multiple issues.
