FINRA Dispute Resolution (FINRA) had a busy year in 2009. In addition to the
large increase in case filings, we implemented several new rules resulting in
additional training for arbitrators.
Many disputes that do not settle in mediation end with the declaration, “We can do better at trial.” But as the parties and mediator leave the room, they may ask
themselves if that assertion is accurate.
