- The user must be connected to the firm’s network.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Is FinPro SSO the same as Gateway SSO?
No. FinPro SSO is separate from Gateway SSO - having Gateway SSO does not automatically enable FinPro SSO. Your firm administrator must contact FINRA and request FinPro SSO setup.
Q2: Do I have to use SSO if my firm has enabled it?
No. You can continue using your existing login methods (UserID/Password or Sign In With Google). SSO provides an additional, convenient login option.
Q3: I'm trying to use FinPro SSO but getting an error message. What should I do?
First, verify that you meet all eligibility requirements. Try logging in with your traditional method and contact your firm administrator to verify if FinPro SSO has been configured for your firm.
Q4: Can I use SSO if my FinPro profile only has a personal email address?
No. To use FinPro SSO, your FinPro profile must have a business email address that matches your firm's domain.
Q5: Will I still need two-factor authentication (2FA) if I use FinPro SSO?
No. 2FA is not required if you login with SSO. However, if you login using UserID/Password or Sign In With Google, you'll still need to complete 2FA as usual.
Q6: Will my access permissions change if I use SSO instead of my regular login?
No. Your access permissions remain the same regardless of which login method you use.
Q7: What happens to my SSO access if I leave my firm?
If you leave your firm or your firm email becomes inactive, you'll lose FinPro SSO eligibility. However, you can continue to login using other methods (UserID/Password or Sign In With Google).
