The next OATS Release has been preliminarily set for Monday, October 29, 2001. This article highlights changes that will affect OATS reporting systems. More specific details will be included in the next edition of the OATS Reporting Technical Specifications scheduled for publication in early September.

The first change adds the Issue Symbol to both the Cancel and Desk Reports. The Issue Symbol will occupy field 10 in the Cancel Report and field 11 in the Desk Report. The addition of this field pushes the fields behind it back one position. As always, the Issue Symbol field must be a valid Nasdaq security for the Order Received Date. This change is being made to allow firms to more easily identify these order events.

The second change is regarding the Routing Method Code of "O". Up until now the Routing Method Code of "O" was used to designate a route to Optimark. Going forward, the Routing Method Code of "O" will designate a route to SuperSoes.
