Bruce Waybright Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

Government is supposed to be here to provide the services that the citizen can't provide, like military, international policies, etc. This government wasn't set up to be babysitters for its citizens. Citizen can make their own decisions, be they bad ones or good ones. Every day we make decisions about our lives without government intervention. Some of these decisions literally cost people their lives, but it is still OUR decision. Investment are also a choice that many people make than can drastically affect their financial future. For the government to step in and tell us that we are not allowed to invest in certain legal opportunities unless government regulators tell us it's OK, it the government overstepping its duties. If somebody decides to invest in any stock, bond, security, etc... without doing their due diligence, then that is their decision, as poor as that decision may be. I have personally made bad decisions in my life, as have all people, and had to live with the consequences. Yes, I could possibly live my retirement in a much lower standard of living, but would be MY fault. But you are proposing that the opportunity to live at a possibly higher standard of living is up to YOU. Our nation was formed under the Constitution. No where in the constitution does it say government is supposed to babysit its citizens. To the contrary, it was written to give the people the power, not the government.
