John Knighten Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

My feeling is that leveraged and inverse securities are very risky but the disclosures of risks are currently adequate. My broker requires a permission to trade them and only gives permission after risk disclosures are made. At some point, individual responsibility should be the focus. When used properly,,leveraged and inverse securities are very useful investment strategies and I would not favor additional restrictions imposed on their use. In fact, they are much more cost-effective than other methods of hedging for some strategies. They are tools for investors to use, and they are indeed quite useful. Thank you for being concerned about my welfare, I really appreciate that concern, but I don't think you need to do anything more regarding the requirements to trade these securities.
