Matthew Ward Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

Any investor should be able to choose the public investments that are right for them. Investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
I find it offensive that I would have to go through any special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities, similar to leveraged and inverse funds. The reason they are necessary in the first place is because of regulator policies that have created a stock market bubble. I am more than capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I do not need a regulator to inform me if leveraged or inverse funds are a proper investment strategy. I use them to hedge my portfolio in the event of a downturn in the market.
