Leveraged index are important for private investors like me. I have a high risk tolerance but don't have the time to manage puts and call on a daily basis. This is why leveraged funds like TQQQ and SQQQ are products that I use frequently. I understand why regulations try to limit what inexperienced private investors can have access to. Investor who leverage themselves above their risk tolerance and loose their stakes or their life savings are responsible for their incompetence. Regulations should seek to educate new investors in the risk associated with those more complex investments rather than completely ban them from personal use. Just like we should teach teenagers about the risk of teen pregnancy and STDs rather than telling them they can't have sex until marriage and not offering them proper sex education.
