I do not support limits on leveraged or inverse funds, they provide a very useful and quite frankly safer alternative to investors like myself that choose to use these instead of options and traditional margin leverage.
They clearly indicate they are short term instruments so when used correctly can be a great tool in the tool belt of the retail investor.
I believe non traditional investment
Short Interest reporting AND ENFORCEMENT needs to improved at multiple levels. No hedge fund or investor should be given an excuse to hide what they are doing or to delay reporting or masking it in creative work arounds. 21-19 is a vast improvement. As a retail trader for decades >40 years. It’s about time more reporting and penalties for institutions and investment funds are ratcheted up
Given the significant damage Short Interest can have on a smaller company, I am eager to have better reporting tools to help these smaller companies protect themselves from the aggressive larger players in the economy. Having bad data is the last help being given to these large hedgefunds, so we request frequent accurate data to better level the playing field for all investors rich or poor. The
I find it repugnant that unelected officials like yourselves have the audacity to tell me how I can invest my hard earned capital while members of Congress feel that they are entitled to trade on inside information (which is illegal for us "unwashed" ) and allow large funds naked short securities (which is also illegal for us "unwashed" ) and not blink an eye but seem to get
Retail investors deserve proper and timely disclosure of information, the amount of Information that is misreported is incredibly misleading. Please do something about this broken system, institute changes that bring positive outlook to the future of the stock market, for all participants.
21-19 is a step in the right direction. That being said, IT IS NOT ENOUGH! Far more must be done to expose the corrupt practices utilized by bad actors in the market place. Yes I mean selling shares that do not exist case in point AMC! WITH APPROXIMATLY OVER 1 BILLION SHARES SOLD SHORT! LOOK INTO IT! CITIBANK HOLDS 510 MILLION SHARES FOR FORIEN INVESTORS ALONE. yes do implement the 2119 rule
FINRA -should not limit my choose to invest in leveraged and inverse funds. With inverse funds I can still manage to potentially make gains in an IRA account as I cant short in this type of account. If you limit this I can only go down. I have a collage degree and understand the risk associated with any type of trading or investment. I have gone to school for trading and am doing what I love to
Comments: These complex products are important for clients to be able to hedge theri portfolios.
MEME stocks and excessive margin has created much more volatility and seems to be unregulated at the firm level where these ETF's are.
My concern is if these are limited then it will drive investors to other less visible aggressive investments
I do not agree with the regulation money and currency or what in the same if it holds a value than it should be considered to be a stable currency and there should be regulations on what makes you fit into that bracket after your stock or currency has not stayed above a certain price 4 2 annual terms or something like that
I dont follow the logic on this proposition. People are allowed to yolo their life savings into penny stock options but a leveraged form of a much more diversified investment is being banned? It doesnt make sense to me. This seems performative and not addressing any specific issue we see causing problems.
