Hello,
I am in my forties and I have been investing for the past twenty years. I feel that this is unneeded regulation. All stocks have risk. I currently use my leveraged and inverse funds to help protect my portfolio. This money has helped me to pay for my home.
My family is in an awkward position. With me as the main breadwinner, I need an income with a work from home job. I have studied stock trading for years and require access to both leveraged and inverse ETF's. Mostly, I use them for hedging my investments and this is crucial in any market condition.
I have been using these funds as part of my portfolio for over ten years and I should not be forced to stop. I dont have the time to research individual stocks but I can follow trends in our economy. That is why I like these funds. Please do not make any changes. Bill Grigat
Leveraged and inverse funds give people the ability to grow their wealth and shouldn't be restricted to certain privileged (mostly wealthy) individuals. Why single out these investments? There are many risky stocks that have higher volatility and risk than leveraged and inverse ETFs. This is arbitrary and hurts the small investor.
I strongly oppose the effort of regulators to limit my ability to purchase leveraged or inverse investments. I am educated and well aware the risks of purchasing such products. As the last 5 months have dramatically proven, these types of products, like any stock, has the ability to go up or down significantly.
Please allow us to have somewhere to go to protect our money!! The stock market pirates ripped me off for over 177 thousand dollars!! The tdameritrade pirates and hedge funds that have access to my account!!@! All insider trading and front running!! Business as usual!! :(
I do not think regulators should play with what we can invest in when they have a record or allowing bitcoin investments and allowing ESOP investments 100% in untraded stock. Clearly, stopping leveraged investments is a play by people who do not want common traders to use them.
If I wish to lose money its my choice. You guys did nothing when General Motors ticker symbol changed in 2008 and allowed people to invest in a stock which was no longer linked to a company, now you are concerned that we are not smart enough?!??? Give me a break!
I have been an investor in the stock market for over 20 years, but am considering pulling out for good. The regulators have shown everybody that they aren't in control, and allow hedge funds to run rampant with manipulation and most likely buy them off with kickbacks in the form of fines, while they break all the rules. The level of gross criminality is off the charts, and at the very least
I have the right to choose the public investment and believe leveraged ETF is important options to my strategies.
Leveraged index ETFs are no risky than individual stocks.
Setting up a test do not guarantee investment competence. Becoming an financial advisor requires taking tests but the performance is not spectacular.
