All short interest and FTDs need to be reported on a daily basis. Individual investors deserve to know what is going on with their stocks, especially when the entire system is computerized.
FINRA's Securitized Products 144A Dissemination ServiceSM (SP-144ASM) broadcasts last sale price and other relevant trade data for U.S. dollar-denominated private placement, investment grade and high yield securitized product bonds to authorized market data vendors.
I completely oppose restrictions that could impact my ability to trade in both leveraged and inverse ETF's. The US equity markets have recently undergone several bouts of volatility so far in the first 4 months of 2022 with the S&P 500 being down about 14% currently. In this current environment inverse ETF's have been most instrumental to me in obtaining short
With all due respect "reporting" is a small part of the shorting problem. While I support more immediate reporting requirements, the issue is naked shorting, mislabeling of shorts (as longs), and other shorting malfeasance being used by market makers (i.e. Citadel and Virtu) to manipulate market prices and destroy market integrity. Fines are also the biggest joke. Citadel has been fined
The FINRA 21-19 is a long waited change in the stock market. The integrity of the US stuck market has been tarnished. So much in fact that is teders on the edge of collapse. This is partially caused by the risks surrounding short interest reporting under the regulation of FINRA. Institutional investors repeatedly creating systemic risk by their gambling with derivatives are an actual imminent threat to our markets. They are the ones who need significantly more regulation and
We need more transparency within the market. We need to see daily reports on a specific institution's short position regarding the amount of shares they have on loan, the amount of time those shares have been borrowed, the amount gained/loss due to a short position, and the amount of IOUs/tangible shares that are being traded. This is also including trades done within the dark pool, not just
Naked shorting is illegal.- Conditions need to be met by regulatory agencies to ensure it doesn't happen including federal sentences for those caught selling naked shorts. If I can’t sell you a car I don’t own than it should be just as illegal to sell shares that don;t exist. Short positions need to be reported daily by funds and market makers, and public notice needs to be reported daily on
I am a "retail investor" who has been aware of naked shorting for over 10 years, being invested in Inovio Pharmaceuticals, one of the most shorted stocks in the market. The manipulation of the share price over the years has been criminal. As stated on your website, "FINRA is authorized by Congress to protect America’s investors by making sure the broker-dealer industry operates
