After working in the financial industry for over 20 years and now hearing that regulators are wanting to restrict investors on what they can invest in, specifically crypto investments, makes me question the integrity of our regulatory bodies. All investors should have the right to invest in whatever they believe serves their financial goals and future. Is the US becoming communistic like china?
It is outrageous that i on a self directed account should not be able to purchase leveraged or inverse securities because someone else wants to babysit me. I should not have a barrier to entry by demonstrating net worth or any other restraints. This is a violation of my freedom to do what i please in the income and money that i have. If the vehicle is public it needs to be available to the investing public and not restricted in a way that favors a privileged group. Every individual investor, not regulators, should be able to choose the public investments that make sense for them and their families. Furthermore, public investments should be available to ALL of the public, not just the privileged investor.

I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds

I have immense issue with the proposed changes to certain investments moving forward. I strongly believe that I not any regulator should be able to make decisions on what investments I put my money into. These investments should be available for all people not just people who meet privileged requirements.
