Comments: To whom it may concern: I am writing to provide input concerning the issue of FINRA proposed rules to limit access to leveraged and inverse ETFs and "complex products". I use leveraged and inverse ETFs regularly as a hedge against market volatility. This has been a very valuable and successful tool for me. I fully understand that uneducated investors may use them incorrectly
I think its a dumb rule. People take out margin and risk owing the brokerage. Levered funds remove that risk
Along with the risk comes a great deal of opportunity, The risks are already clearly explained and do not need any possibly restrictive regulation.
Guidance on FINRA’s Suitability Rule
Comments:Investors should be allowed to access and trade leveraged and Inverse ETFs as long as investors are given a description of risks involved and acknowledge the risks.
LEVERAGED FUNDS ARE EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND ARE A GOOD WAY TO ENHANCE RETURNS. THERE IS RISK WITH EVERYTHING, BUT OPTIONS ARE FAR MORE OF A RISK TO AVERAGE INVESTORS.
I understand the risk involved in leveraged funds. Public investments should be available to everyone. It is my portfolio and solely my responsibility to take such risks.
