Using inverted and leveraged etfs is a better alternative then using options. Which would be the only other way you could insure or hedge your position. And it's alot less risky.
These are products that are used by sophisticated investors who understand the risks and are willing to take them as part of their overall strategy for their reward.
Restricting access or imposing onerous criteria to meet before an investor can trade/invest in them goes against every principle of a free-market economy.

Please do not restrict my ability to trade leveraged or inverse ETF's. These are a great money maker for me. With respect, I probably have a better understanding of how these work than anyone at your agency.
Each investor should do the necessary research to better understand the risks involved.I strongly oppose any new regulations that would hinder my ability to invest in all leveraged and inverse funds.
It is disappointing to read of further regulations against the retail trader. These funds are at our own risk. It is upsetting that I even have to comment in an attempt to preserve the ability to provide myself and family a better financial opportunity.
Finra would be better served finding a way to stop unregulated shorting of many securities in the US markets. This action against Leveraged and Inverse funds inhibits a hedging mechanism that is useful to individual investors.
Using inverse funds is a critical part of an investment strategy and in down markets one of the better strategies to still be able to get a positive return. I highly encourage you to not put limitations on this investment vehicle.
Leveraged ETFs make up a small share of my portfolio and I should be allowed to invest in them. It's condescending for FINRA to assume they know better than I what I should do with my money.
