As I understand it FINRA is looking to enhance the requirements around reporting short interest positions. I have this to say about reporting methods and data. We are in a world surrounded by fast moving data. We can call a loved one across the globe in a blink of an eye, share a tele-conference with hundreds of listeners, or place thousand dollar order in seconds. Technology has evolved and with
"Proprietary" long positions should be reported should they contain previous short interest despite a strategy change. As long as it's "guaranteed hedged" it's ok? Peak clown market.
Please reconsider your proposal to limit access to leveraged and inverse funds. Many brokers do not allow shorting in IRAs hence a good alternative is the use of inverse and leveraged funds to allow an investor to hedge and protect a portfolio.
You are not doing this to help us! You are doing this to paralyze us. If you really cared about fairness you would prosecute the short sellers and synthetic share creators. Let us invest how we like.
These types of funds actually reduce risk for retail investors who wish to short the market. Conventional short-selling's losses are theoretically infinite while trading inverse funds ensures you only lose a fixed amount of capital.
The only time someone wants 2 protect the retail investor in reality is to "aid" the large traders
Why not protect the little guy from short raids and reinstate the uptick rule
I will reply later after I have "cooled" down
I should be able to make my own decisions about what I want to invest in, especially leveraged funds. I cant short items or use options, so leveraged funds allow me to make returns in down markets.
Quit allowing shorts, do your jobs. Put an end to dark pool abuse….you and other “regulating” or overseeing groups are just as much of a problem and just as guilty for allowing these abuses
We need the transparency and FAIRNESS in our markets. What do they have to hide? Why NOT report short positions? Does it give an advantage too not disclose them? This is WAY overdue!!
Dear sirs, I am a small investor, however I should still have the right to purchase inverse funds. If big players have the ability to short the market, I should be able to buy inverse funds as well. Please reconsider.
