Leveraged and inverse funds should be available to anyone looking to make investments without restriction. The risks associated with such products are not uniquely difficult to understand and they enable a wide array of hedging strategies for individual investors at all levels of risk tolerance. Making these products more difficult to obtain would be a great disservice to individual investors.
I'd suggest not limiting access to these products, but rather increasing the education requirements and understanding of these products. The risks of the products should be spelled out plainly, not lost in some lengthy document that none of the investors are reading. In big bold letters and a concise one page document, all of the risks are summarized and distributed regularly to
I should be able to make my own decision in what I invest in. I understand the risk and only invest a portion of my money in risky investments. I do not need the government's protection. You end up stifling freedom. This country was founded on people being able to take risks and get the rewards or failure from the results.
Hello,
I have employed inverse Etf funds for several years and understand the risk entirely.
Mostly I invest in them as a moderate defensive hedge my investments, and occassionly to add to returns. Due to the risk I never hold inverse stocks overnight.
WIth my experience and understanding, I for one see no need to regulate these vehicles.
Sincerely,
I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for my investment practices and risk tolerance. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just a small percentage of the total pie. Also, I know that I am perfectly capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks, and as such, regulators should not impose these measures upon me.
It is discriminatory to allow certain individuals to invest in some security classes while restricting others. Individual investors should have the freedom to do as they deem appropriate for their own risk tolerances. Leveraged and inverse funds allow all investors to have a diversified risk profile which is important regardless of total net worth.

These studies have concentrated on United States-based corporate bond data and what, if any, the impact of TRACE has been on liquidity and transparency.
Comments: I as an investor am using leveraged ETF's to hedge against the risk. FINRA should not just block individuals from accessing these ETF's and leave them accessible to hedge funds and mutual funds and other large investment.
Such suggestion is simply an action against small individual investors who wants to carefully manage their risk.
I have read about the risks involved concerning leveraged and inverse funds. These products allow me to make allow me to trade and profit when the market is volatile and I do not feel restrictions should be put into place. I took a very expensive stock trading class and I understand the risks and feel comfortable making these trades.
- My broker already has established adequate risk assessment, risk level determination, and trade warnings / education that allow me to trade options, inverse and leveraged etfs/funds/etns, etc. - I – not regulators – should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me. - Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
