I have used Leveraged funds SUCCESSFULLY for the last ten years. They have added significant gains to my retirement plan. Please leave them alone.
<p>Member firms may pay retired registered representatives continuing commissions based on contributions to accounts established by the former representatives prior to retirement, provided the conditions of NASD IM-2420-2 are satisfied, and further, that such payments are made in compliance with SEC "no-action" letters addressing the permissibility of those payments under Section 15(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. I am a retired citizen and an active private investor. I never had a job that provided me with a pension. I taught myself how to invest through trial and error. One of the great developments in investment products at the end of 1997 was that of ProFunds' making available inverse funds and leveraged funds. Both of these categories of mutual funds provided me more flexibility in how I
Hi,
I use leveraged products as a part of my portfolio allocation.
I dont know if you have read the 2008 paper by Yale researchers Ayres and Nalenluff titled, Life-Cycle Investing and Leverage: Buying Stock on Margin Can Reduce Retirement Risk.
In this paper, they detail how the use of leverage in stocks for young investors can REDUCE the risk those investors will not have enough in retirement.
Markets go down at times. Using leveraged instruments as a hedge to keep my portfolios safe in sudden downturns is the only way I can afford to stay invested in the markets as I enter retirement. "Buy and hold" isn't safe at my age. Fixed income products don't pay enough to cover my needs, and they have their own set of risk factors. The only way I can sleep
Please do not regulate investments. I do not want my ability to invest inhibited by anyone. I want to be free to perdue a comfortable retirement and not be dependant on the government or my children
True freedom means having control over our own currency and retirement. Having this controlled by centralized banking would be a detriment to the growing international currency market.
I retired as a CFP and have been investing my funds for over 50 yrs. I understand the risks involved and I would not be happy having my investment rights limited.
I use the inverse funds to lower the risk in my long stock investments. I am retired and don't take much risk, so I need the inverse funds to lower the risk.
Please do NOT restrict my ability to freely trade leveraged and inverse funds to maximize my investment potential. I'm using these funds to increase funding for my retirement.
