Please reconsider your proposal to limit access to leveraged and inverse funds. Many brokers do not allow shorting in IRAs hence a good alternative is the use of inverse and leveraged funds to allow an investor to hedge and protect a portfolio.
Do not take away my right to invest in leveraged ETFS. if you want to protect investors focus on naked short selling, corrupt analysts that publish bogus information, and large brokerages who manipulate stock prices.
You are not doing this to help us! You are doing this to paralyze us. If you really cared about fairness you would prosecute the short sellers and synthetic share creators. Let us invest how we like.
These types of funds actually reduce risk for retail investors who wish to short the market. Conventional short-selling's losses are theoretically infinite while trading inverse funds ensures you only lose a fixed amount of capital.
The only time someone wants 2 protect the retail investor in reality is to "aid" the large traders
Why not protect the little guy from short raids and reinstate the uptick rule
I will reply later after I have "cooled" down
I should be able to make my own decisions about what I want to invest in, especially leveraged funds. I cant short items or use options, so leveraged funds allow me to make returns in down markets.
I should be able to choose investments that I deem appropriate for me. I primarily use inverse funds to hedge my fixed income portfolio. This enables me to collect interest on my investments while limiting downside exposure to my principal in a rising rate environment. Not having the ability to do so would unnecessarily cost me loss of principal. In addition, I also use inverse treasury funds as
Quit allowing shorts, do your jobs. Put an end to dark pool abuse….you and other “regulating” or overseeing groups are just as much of a problem and just as guilty for allowing these abuses
Dear sirs, I am a small investor, however I should still have the right to purchase inverse funds. If big players have the ability to short the market, I should be able to buy inverse funds as well. Please reconsider.
My comment on the rules is to actually enforce them. Honestly, take a look at obvious naked short selling and market manipulation. We the people have lost trust in a "free" market.
