If you regulate this people like me who maybe able to invest 5.00 at a time will never have a chance to get ahead or even have a retirement period. No regulations.
I have an existing position in pro shares short the S&P 500 because I Believe that stocks are dangerously over valued ,and as a hedge if my retirement fund should go broke.
I do not need regulators to protect me from leveraged and inverse funds. I have used them prudently for many years. They are an important tool in my self-directed retirement investing.
Leveraged ETF's are an excellent way to get 3x exposure without the risks of using traditional leverage! This would be a horrible, HORRIBLE event for many many people's retirement accounts!
Please do not limit investing choices like leveraged and inverse ETFs. These choices are essential tools for managing portfolios, especially retirement portfolios which are already very restricted.
I am truly concern of the impact that any regulation would have on the individuals investing on these ETF. This could wipe out retirement savings or individual savings of many of your constituents.
I have been doing my own investing for over fifty years, and for much of that time was frustrated by the restrictions placed on my retirement savings, especially the inability to buy individual stocks rather than mutual funds. Having finally escaped those regulations after retirement I do not want to be told that I am not sophisticated enough to use mutual funds and etf's if they are '
I have been investigating, buying selling trading, holding funds my whole complete adult life. We have been self employed and self invested into IRA, Roth IRA, SEP and so on. Leveraged funds, international, Us non leveraged are all a part of our now retired portfolio! Every fund has helped me to invest and learn more about investing. It would be a profoundly hurtful move to take away investment
Leveraged and inverse funds can play a useful role in a self-managed savings or retirement investment portfolio. Their use should be available to amateur, everyday investors as part of a personal investment strategy.
There should not be any special process, tests or other to be able to invest in public investments. Leveraged investments are part of an overall strategy that will enable retirement. There is no reason to have any type of regulation on these funds.
