You would be limiting peoples ability to hedge long only investments (bonds & stocks).
Creates over inflated valuations if you limit us to long only investing.
For those of us who have inverse or leveraged ETFs, will you force us out of them, & if so, that would likely force us to unwind at levels we do not wish too.
Think back to when they halted trading in the short vix
These leveraged funds provide outstanding trading and investment products for successfully managing my stock market investments. Individuals should have the same opportunities as the "professionals", many of whom do not perform as well as the good individual investor. There should not be barriers that prevent the average investor from participating in these products. The risks are
I have been trading in Leveraged and Inverse ETFs (TQQQ, SQQQ, and similar instruments for DOW and S&P500) for over 3 years. I use these instruments as part of my overall investment strategy to hedge and smooth my investment returns, but they only represent a small fraction (1-2%) of my total portfolio. I do not believe that any special knowledge is required to buy/sell these
As an investor in leveraged ETFs, I oppose adding additional requirements to be able to invest in them. There are already very aggressive warnings against investing in leveraged ETFs on the brokerage sites that I've used (specifically Fidelity and Schwab). These extra warnings informed me that these products are not suitable for most investors and made you acknowledge that these
Its interesting to see how FINRA favors "big money", who causes most of the chaos and wide market swings, over those of whom are considered the (retail investor). Every prospectus lists the risks associated with the particular stock or fund, stating "Investor beware", yet FINRA considers margin and option trading less riskier. Regulators tend to pick the
Please please please FINRA, please do not restrict me and my family from investing in leveraged and inverse funds. I am now making very nice profits due to these particular stocks / funds. I understand the risk involved and feel I should not have to go through passing a test or any other special process in order to invest in these public securities. They provide me the security with hedging my
I am writing to oppose any further regulation on leveraged and inverse investment products. Individual investors like myself have access to prospectus documents, we can read how the product operates, and we know that all investments in the stock and bond markets come with risks. Who is clamoring for this regulation, besides regulators? You might prevent 1% of investors from making a mistake, but
Dear FINRA,
Public leveraged securities should be made available to the public at large without any special testing, endorsements or requirements. While I can appreciate that you are looking out for the novice investor, these ETFs (just like *any* ETF) are managed by managers who are FAR MORE FAMILIAR WITH THE MARKET than I am! Thats why they earn a management fee. I love the S&P and
As to the warning I received from ProShares concerning a radical and unprecedented threat by regulators that could affect my right to buy dozens of popular public investments, including leveraged and inverse funds, it is my opinion that these products have, in fact, helped to level the playing field for the individual investor, and therefore, provide the balance, at this moment in time, required
I find it offensive that a regulatory agency wants to curtail the private financial investment choices of adult citizens, under the guise of "protecting" us.
Free markets work best when they are truly FREE. I am perfectly capable of reading the prospectus and understanding the risks of my investment decisions. If a person does not understand those risks, then the prudent move
