I am AGAINST passage of FINRA’s Regulatory Notice 22-08 taking effect.
I use leveraged indexed ETF's actively trading them over short time horizons under steady participation in a long time horizon (25+ years) to smooth out inconsequential market fluctuations, even as much as 50%+, as part of my overall portfolio strategy. The financial services providers servicing these funds have been
Comments are specifically speaking to self-directed / unadvised investors. Direct investment in derivatives should require additional education. Proof of completion of these courses should be required before being allowed to use them. This [REDACTED] is nitro, and the influence of people online pitching options strategies as easy and safe is enflaming the issue. It's far too easy to find
I urge FINRA not to further regulate the ability of investors to purchase complex funds including leveraged and inverse funds. Investors should have the freedom to choose their investments without judgment or approval from government regulators. The current regulations and disclosures of risk are sufficient. I am capable of understanding risks without government judgment of me.
Proposed rules
Dear FINRA,
My comment is in response to FINRA Regulatory Notice #22-08. I believe we as public investors should be able to decide how we invest our money. I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds without having to go through and special process to use them. I have been using leveraged and inverse funds since 2009. They have immensely helped me in my retirement strategy. In
I disagree with the proposed rule in FINRA Regulatory Notice #22-08. 1. I should be able to invest in public securities as an individual investor, including leveraged and inverse funds without any barriers. 2. Brokerages can provide disclaimers, notices, and education to individuals however, these should not be a condition for investment or used as a barrier to entry. 3. Regulatory oversight
Im a normal everyday retail investor who's been continuously using leveraged ETF's for multiple years now.
Im a simple investor dollar cost averaging my funds and realize the risks that come with it, and that I could potentially lose everything.
Please understand that restricting retail investors and only allowing people with a "high net worth" or "
I understand that you through FINRA Regulatory Notice #22-08 are considering legislation that would likely eliminate my ability to buy leveraged funds, inverse funds, and other public investments. I oppose these restrictions on my right to invest. I should be able to consider risks and determine what public investments are appropriate for my family, not a regulatory body. In todays financial
The proposal to ban or limit leveraged ETFs is downright wrong and is un-American in every aspect. These are valid & legal securities, just like gold, or bonds, or any single stock. Do traders of these assets need special approval, or have any other restrictions to their trading?
An investor or trader can lose just as easily and quickly with any of these assets, or even real estate
This regulation would be used by financial advisors to essentially create a tax on individual investors who want to get exposure to certain financial products directly on their own. Perhaps there should be regulations that explicitly lay out risks of certain investments, but to force individuals to take a test or be licensed to directly buy certain investment products is entirely un American.
I am completely opposed to any partial or complete restrictions on the right to invest in any public investments. I have been investing in the leveraged/inverse funds for portfolio hedging and have not found them to be any extra risky than regular funds as long as normal risk management process using proper stop loss is followed.
Leveraged and inverse funds are very important for small investors
