Why must I "demonstrate a high net worth"? What defines a high net worth? Why are you being so intentionally ambiguous with this qualification? Why would an investor of "high net worth" be better qualified to trade as a trader with less net worth?
What happened to the government's position of income equality?
This is ridiculous. Rather than take away the few tools (like inverse ETFs) that investors use to help protect themselves from unfair markets, perhaps it would be better to focus on fining those manipulating the markets for their own selfish gains. The way these markets are run, rigged against the little guy, is a disgrace.
(a) Leveraged and inverse funds allow small retail investor like me to hedge/ protect against the massive swing we are having in the market due to the tremendous leverage available to hedge/ institutional funds
(b) We understand that there are fees/ costs and risks associated with these leverage and inverse funds, but it is better to have them, than not!
Everyone should be allowed to invest into the new markets like cryptocurrency or NFTs or web3 but we also need fair and balanced regulations that protect investors from fraud and rug pulls from bad actors or cryptocurrency companies who are not being prosecuted at this time! Make this a personal goal to change cryptocurrency for the better.
It is concerning that more and more opportunities for folks to invest and further their potential to build wealth are being shut down. If something is "too complex," then there should be more education to help people to better their lot, not just allow a select few to be able to take advantage of rigged systems to make money hand over fist.
Shorting stocks is critical for markets to operate with maximum liquidity. Leverage that is speculation that fuels shorting stocks. Many investors dont have available funds in their trading accounts to short stocks directly. Leveraged shorting allows better gains than otherwise. Please keep inverse leveraged funds available for trading
I've personally concluded that these 3x leveraged ETF's were a criminal enterprise by Direxion Funds and others, and yet were authorized. These should not be offered, and I wish I knew better before I bought them and they proceeded to do MANY reverse splits to where my holdings were worth less than 5% of where they started....
