It poses a severe threat towards market fairness. Retail traders or investors should be able to freely choose whatever products that fit their trading strategies. Finance is NOT only for the rich or the privileged. We know what leveraged funds are. Also, the liquidity will be severely affected if passed.
In brokerage accounts such as TD Ameritrade, we are free to trade stocks and financial instruments such as leveraged and inverse funds without any pressures of dealing with an actual broker. There is no solicitation or advertising on these sites that points us to any particular fund or stock. Please don't restrict this freedom.
I as a trader do not need restrictions on my investments of any kind.
I am capable of researching and trading my own investments. I do not need a broker, who made me less money, charged more commissions, and is not conventiently available.
Thank you, Cheryl Hecket
I utilize many leveraged ETFs which is beneficial when requiring leverage but not having to use margin. Each trade is also accompanied by warnings from the broker and most people I know are aware of the issues. Very beneficial to provide a hedge when markets are crashing as it is now.
I trade in high volume NASDAQ leveraged funds which in my opinions are much safer than options and futures as they track an underlying index while options can easily become worthless. I dont understand why it would be allowed to buy options and not leveraged funds.
[REDACTED] I am not a professional trader or have thousands of dollars available for trading. Limiting me or forcing me to do something is not an organization I want to continue investing. Maybe I should just sell? I want to choose my own investments and not be controlled or have restrictions. Enough said!
A blanket ban on leveraged and inverse fund trading is excessive. People want access to a variety of options based on their perception of where markets are headed. Limiting access to these types of financial instruments just creates more inequality in the financial system. Please do not pass this regulation!
I quite often trade and invest in TQQQ, a triple leveraged fund. I believe that it is my fundamental right to invest as I please whatever strategy works best for me in any market condition. I would hope that FINRA would not restrict the buying and selling of this fund in any way.
I don't believe small individual investors should be limited from investing utilizing leverage as long as they accept the risks. These inverse and leverage funds allow small investors to reduce the slippage inherent in trading options. The assumption that a small investor is a stupid investor is elitist and insulting.
I'm in favor of trader/investor *education* but not additional restrictions. In fact, I oppose PDT because $25000 is an inappropriate amount of money to risk while learning. $1000 would be plenty to learn how to trade. It's the transaction quantity that builds experience. Thousands are required to learn effectively.
