Inverse fund are an important check on the stock market. I believe that individual investors, when informed of the risks involved, should be able to choose to invest in these funds.
People are more than capable of deciding their own level of risk. I have bought and sold weighted ETFs for over a decade. There is no reason to restrict these products.
As an investor in a short ETF of the S&P, I take exception to regulators entering into the process of what ETFs, I can purchase. I am well aware of the risks associated with it.
Taking this away will not in any way save people from risk. Leveraged and inverse funds are like any other and should be made available to all.
I should be able to invest in whatever products I want. I have a PhD and am more than aware of my ability to take on risk and understand the markets.
I do not need you telling me what I can or can't invest it. I't my responsibility to assume risk, not yours. Quit being the nanny state.
These products have been around for years with no 'damage' to any investors. Informed investors are fully aware of the risk associated with both Inverse and Leveraged ETFs.
I am capable of understanding leverage and inverse and
their risks and do not need these measures imposed on
me.
i use them as a limited part of my overall portfolio.
I can make sound judgements on the risk of leveraged ETFs I do not need regulators to regulate my investment strategies. Please leave us alone.
As an investor, I belive that it should be up to individual to determine his risk tolerance level and be allowed to use leverage as part of investment strategy, not dictated by regulators
