New traders have to learn their job like anyone else on any other job, and learning about the risks and rewards of leveraged and inverse funds only takes a couple of quick real-life lessons. There is no need to impose a bunch of convoluted rules and regulations on these financial tools that make trading difficult for the rest of us.
I know what I do. I should have the freedom to trade the ETFs (LEVERAGED AND INVERSE FUNDS) which I through are suitable. These ETFs are very convenient and no investment barrier for the me.
If one day I lost such investment chances in US, I would move my money to other country which is more friendly to retail investors.
I oppose the regulation to disallow trading in leveraged and inverse funds in a brokerage account. I do not have to go through any special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I understand the risk associated with those investments and I willing to take those risks.
We don't need you to restrict our ability to buy publicly traded funds. We need you to regulate funds that aren't following the law. I would be extremely upset if I was told I was restricted from buying certain ETFs b/c I wasn't high net worth. Do not pursue Notice #22-08.
SEC's task is not to omit individual investors from their rightful ability to elect what risk levels they can accept through various investments.
Requesting to have continued access to trade leveraged as before. We all can read and know the risks associated with leveraged/hedged investments, without being held back.
Please don t do this
I enjoy trading and trying to make myself self sufficient ,This will not help if this wont make it so I can expand my retirement , Just trying to get the American dream a little at a time .
I don t need your help to control my retirement my extra earning ability
Thanks
Stop another power grab by big banks! Position sizing and trade stops are the main ways to reduce risk. Where is your support on those tools?
All the regulations will do is to give exclusive access to special entities, that could enrich themselves or re-sell the same investments as a "service" to individual investors.
No thanks.
Comments:Please do not do this. Leveraged and leveraged ETFs provide the exact leverage WITH liquidity that I need for large trades. Theyre much safer and less volatile than any given overnight gapper under $10. You will solve nothing with this restriction. You may drive investors towards even riskier investments.
Leveraged exchange traded funds (ETFs) play a useful role in my investment strategy. The way I use them, they are no more risky than individual stocks, and they are less risky than some other investment vehicles such as futures contracts. Please do not prohibit individual investors from using leveraged ETFs.
