I, NOT regulators, must retain the right to purchase/sell any and all public investments like ProShares. Public investments are and should remain available to everyone, not the privileged few. I consider leveraged and inverse funds important to an investment strategy and the associated risks.
In June 2009, FINRA issued Regulatory Notice 09-31 to remind firms of their sales practice obligations relating to leveraged and inverse exchange-traded funds (ETFs). At the same time, the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) issued guidance to the Canadian industry that is substantially similar to our Notice. In July we released a compliance podcast concerning the Notice
Every investor should have the right to purchase whatever they want. Risk is solely the responsibility of the investor and not a regulatory body in a democratic and capitalistic society. Further action such as these are further proof that the US financial system is rigged in favor for the elite and top 1%.
I believe us as investors should have the freedom to choose the investments that fit our objectives and risk appetite. No special requirements should be implemented in order to do this. I see leveraged and inverse ETFs as an alternative to stock derivatives in my portfolio.
Comments: Funds of this nature do not act in a predatorial fashion. Clients are provided materials to educate themselves of the risk associated with them. It is of my opinion a restriction is not warranted, investors should have the ability to use them as fit for there investment objective.
Leveraged and inverse funds are important to my
investment strategies. Its hard to focus on one stock and its always better to buy leveraged ETF and minimize risk .Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
Dear Sirs: Please do not restrict investment options such as trading leveraged and inverse ETFs. These funds can be an important part of a diversified portfolio. Taking investment tools from the public can increase rather than decrease risk.
I have successfully traded leveraged and inverse funds for years now. I understand the risks and benefits. I find it counterproductive in a free society to have a government preventing investments that aid in leveraging an investment account to individuals who know how they trade.
Please allow me to make my own investment decisions. i use leveraged accounts as buffers to other investments. i am well versed and have been investing for 32 years. It's my risk and i'll bear the consequences
I do not approve of possible measures to bar individuals from investing in leveraged or inverse security. Grown adults have the obligation to understand the risk involved in financial transactions and should not be prevented from entering voluntarily into contracts by a paternalistic government.
