So many of the funds that may be at risk are important for individual investors to be able to access. It seems anti-democratic to keep them away from small investors and to only grant access to some of the best types of funds to rich (aka 'qualified') investors.
To whom it may concern,
I have been investing in leveraged funds for several years and appreciate the opportunity to do so. I understand the risks of these investments and have accepted their performance. I fear that limits placed on these investments will reduce the freedoms of all but the wealthiest investors.
Please dont take away my right to make my own investment decisions. I choose to make educated investments in leveraged and inverse funds as part of my investment strategy and am perfectly capable of managing the risks that comes with them.
I believe it is I alone, and not regulators who should be ablel to choose those public investments which I deem right for me and my family. I am fully capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks and accept total responsibility for my actions.
Leveraged and inverse funds are important to my investment strategies. They help me protect/hedge my investments and seek enhanced returns. I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. The loss of access to these instruments would hurt me considerably.
I feel it is important for an individual investor to choose investments that are right for them, this includes leveraged and inverse funds that can greatly benefit an investor and provide enhanced returns, I am perfectly capable to understand the associated risks. Investment choices should not be restricted.
I oppose proposed restrictions on the use of leveraged investment products. I use them in a balanced portfolio which minimizes risk yet enhances returns. Individual investors are unable to access borrowed funds easily and these products offset that disadvantage.
Thank you.
Leveraged and inverse ETFs are an important option for individual investors. They are NOT difficult to understand. Individual investors should have access to be able to both attempt to enhance returns and to hedge investments.
Equity investments in general are risk assets and do not have guarantees.
Knowledgeable investors should be free to invest in any listed security within their risk tolerance and financial level. Government can and should protect against fraud but should not pick winners and losers. Individuals and the market place are the best arbiters of value.
Inverse ETF's are one of the few ways that individual investors can protect themselves from down markets. Leveraged ETF's provide even more protection. I understand the risks associated with them, and I believe that I should be able to choose the investments that I purchase.
