ProShares leveraged funds has been a great way for me to make monthly income with reduced risk. I have been able to generate profit, but this regulation will definitely hurt me and my finances.
Hope this proposal of regulations do not pass.
I dont believe that leverged ETF and inverse ETFs should be locked behind account size, its probably fine to require understanding how they work, but if i want to take risks and potentially lose money i dont see why i should not be able to.
The current disclosures accurately and thoroughly explain the risks associated with leveraged funds - including inverse funds. Please refrain from yet another government episode of unnecessary government involvement. It really appears you have solutions looking for problems.
Inverse ETF's are one of the few ways that individual investors can protect themselves from down markets. Leveraged ETF's provide even more protection. I understand the risks associated with them, and I believe that I should be able to choose the investments that I purchase.
I am a small individual investor, inverse funds help me hedge my long investments. The firms and wealthy can and do use options and short sales to hedge, but I don't want to take on that kind of individual risk. Please consider this.
We should have a free market to buy and sell products. If the issue is with brokers and their practices, then deal with them specifically. People are capable of assessing risk and reward. Please do not shut down leveraged products as they can have incredible returns.
I personally would like to have more knowledge and more accessible information. The more one can comprehend the better the outcomes of their choices. I am neither for or against the proposal. I do believe customers need to read and agree to understanding the risks involved.
Why Does FINRA need more Power?
I am capable of making my own financial investment decisions together with my Financial Advisor.
This is the USA. and we should be free to risk what we have without more Regulation.
It should be my right to invest as I see appropriate for me. Be it equities, bonds, etfs, mutual funds, inverse and leveraged funds, etc. as all investments imply risk. It is up to the individual investor as to where, with due diligence, they wish to apply their money
Please do not restrict these investments!!! Ive been investing in leveraged securities for over 20years and have extensive experience in them and they have been some of my top performing investments. I understand the risk and volatility and want the most growth
