I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before I* can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I do not need the proposed measures imposed on me.
I am writing to inform you that I oppose this regulatory proposal to limit access to leveraged and inverse funds. I feel that retail investors like myself are more than capable of understanding the technicals and risks of leveraged and inverse etfs. Restricting trading of these equities is a violates the principles of the free market.
I oppose FINRA limiting my ability to invest in whatever ETFs I want. I realize the potential losses I may incur, as well as understanding that I may gain from these investments as well. I feel like this is a bit of control by the government. It is my money to risk. I should not be denied the access to these investments.
I have been investing in a Leveraged ETF since 2009 with good results and do not need regulators to restrict my ability to continue investing in this or any other ETF. I will assess the risk and do not need some regulator with little or no investment experience to limit my investment choices.
Please do not do this to retail investors. We have a brain capacity to think and know the risks that are associated with certain funds. Its our money, so we have the freedom to use it however we like, and you have no right to take it away from us.
Inverse funds have been beneficial to me in my investment journey..So why interfere? I assume its risks just like I DO WHEN i invest in other instruments. Now when large institutions were bundling mortgages and swindling the little guys the regulators were no where to be found...
I can't agree that only privileged people can invest leverage and inverse funds. Those funds should be available to all people of investment. I know both positive and negative aspects of those funds and I am investing with my knowledge of risk. Don't restrict the investment chance.
Many legislators have misconceptions about leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. In reality, many individual investors use these funds to balance, hedge or protect their investments in their overall portfolios. Please take time to understand how these funds make sense for investors before restricting them.

the leveraged and inverse funds are important to my investment strategies.
It is up to the individual to manage their risk. The regulation of publicly traded ETF is simply arrogant. Also, limiting leveraged ETFs will only push traders to more risky option contracts. It seems that the requirements to trade leveraged ETFs favors the rich and powerful and limits the capability of the retail trader...unbelievable.
