A retail investor such as myself require access to these types of investments to hedge against risk. During the 2022 downturn they have protected me to successfully hedge my accounts. To test knowledge or require accredited investor status reduces liquidity and advances the disparity between economic classes.
I am an educated investor and aware of the potential risks of utilizing leveraged and inverse funds. To take away these tools from the average investor will significantly impact their ability to compete with the pros. Please do not continue down this regulatory path. This is not going to accomplish a positive goal for the general public.
I am vehemently opposed to limiting current investment vehicles. Better attention to be paid to existing companies who are not reporting accurately (ex: Twitter and TSLA). Anyone using leveraged ETF's are educated enough to understand potential risks. The same for any listed stock on any exchange.
The gambling of Wall Street must end. The entire world economy is at risk from the gambling of a few bad actors. Company's can be destroyed by dark money pools short selling and pushing down stock prices rather than their ability to perform for its clients and in the market place.
Leveraged and inverse funds give people the ability to grow their wealth and shouldn't be restricted to certain privileged (mostly wealthy) individuals. Why single out these investments? There are many risky stocks that have higher volatility and risk than leveraged and inverse ETFs. This is arbitrary and hurts the small investor.
I strongly oppose the effort of regulators to limit my ability to purchase leveraged or inverse investments. I am educated and well aware the risks of purchasing such products. As the last 5 months have dramatically proven, these types of products, like any stock, has the ability to go up or down significantly.
I am expressing my opinion of opposition of adding regulation to my ability to buy leveraged and inverse funds. I understand the risks involved and don't feel that taking a test, for example, is necessary. It is just bureaucracy that isn't necessarily going to help with me be less foolish with losing my money, or not.
Leveraged and inverse funds are one of the many investment tools that I use to match my risk profile and investment objectives. Reducing access or eliminating funds of this nature is nanny state overreach at its finest. I dont need you to tell me how to manage my household finances.
Stop trying to regulate retail investors. Information regarding these securities and other more complex investments is readily available. Nobody forces me to buy leveraged funds and the risks are well documented. You need to worry more about the investment whales that constantly manipulate the daily charts!!
We as individual investors need to have equal opportunity to invest like the pros and would like for us to have access to these leveraged funds. We as individual investors assume these risks of higher losses also and the ability to use leveraged funds should not be taken away from us.
