Investing in stocks, real estate and any other legally available forms should not be restricted to retail investors only. The individual should be restricting his/her own according to his risk and benefit. If the government limits the access to leveraged and inverse funds to only the retail investors, it creates an unfair field,
Why should any investment be limited to the elites and privileged. People should be able to make their own decisions regarding risks regardless of income or net worth. There should be no limitations (tests, readings, income, net wirth, etc.) of when someone buys, holds, or sells leveraged and inverse funds.
I oppose the proposed rule. The leveraged and inverse funds are a very important part of my personal portfolio, which provide a means for me to hedge against other long term holdings and control overall portfolio risks. My personal investments will be negatively affected if restrictions are imposed on those instruments.
As an adult, I am fully capable and should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family.
Public investments should be available to all of the public,
not just the privileged.
As an American I should have the opportunity to take risks on my own accord to succeed, that is the American Dream after all.
To whom it may concern:
I believe it is not up to FINRA to decide how to invest my money. I am fully responsible for my actions which includes understanding leverage and inverse funds and the risks that are involved. To regulate that does not hold up to our American definition of Capitalism. Thanks for your consideration.
I am retired and rely on my investments to provide income. I swing trade the market when it reaches extremes of bullishness or pessimism. By using leveraged and inverse ETF's I make money without risking my entire portfolio.. These products are not complex for someone who has no financial training but follows the market.
Hello, I should be allowed to choose the investment of my choice. I am always provided a prospectus or information concerning the risks of investments. I use a small portion of my overall investment allocation to invest in inverse funds. It is not fair to consider any type of mandates, classes, additional education to invest in these funds.
401ks are already restrictive (no futures/less options strategy). The only way to self manage 401k using Modern Portfolio Theory which uses leverage and rebalancing is using leveraged ETFs, making it inacessible in 401ks puts retirement at risk, given the current retirement options(no pension...).
Leveraged funds are important to my investing strategy and I oppose regulations to limit access to them. I understand the benefits and risks of leverage fund and have done substantial research prior to investing. Increasing regulations to retail investors will further uneven the playing field between the Wall Street and Main Street.
I oppose restrictions on my ability to invest in leveraged and inverse funds. I'm an adult with an ability to think and understand both potential risks and rewards. A person's understanding is not correlated with his net worth. Continue to allow me the benefit to make money with a variety of financial instruments in a variety of market dynamics.
