Hello, I should be allowed to choose the investment of my choice. I am always provided a prospectus or information concerning the risks of investments. I use a small portion of my overall investment allocation to invest in inverse funds. It is not fair to consider any type of mandates, classes, additional education to invest in these funds.
401ks are already restrictive (no futures/less options strategy). The only way to self manage 401k using Modern Portfolio Theory which uses leverage and rebalancing is using leveraged ETFs, making it inacessible in 401ks puts retirement at risk, given the current retirement options(no pension...).
Leveraged funds are important to my investing strategy and I oppose regulations to limit access to them. I understand the benefits and risks of leverage fund and have done substantial research prior to investing. Increasing regulations to retail investors will further uneven the playing field between the Wall Street and Main Street.
I routinely hold and trade leveraged ETFs and I know what my risk tolerance and objectives are for these investments. I do not see any need to add additional layers of rules or regulations to my trading strategy. Please do not impose additional requirements that will make supporting my family more difficult.
The current safeguards in place to make investors aware of the risk of leveraged investments are currently sufficient. Any requirements to demonstrate a certain net worth or adding additional barriers to the investment process will hurt individuals' ability to invest and create further inequities in terms of who has access to particular securities.
I strongly oppose any measures to restrict my ability to choose my investments. I don't need some nanny-state regulator telling me what I can or cannot do regarding my investments. I fully understand the risk of leveraged and inverse funds--probably better than most would-be regulators.
Limiting investment choices not only increases the wealth devide but you increase the risk of a possible index fund collapse that Jack Boggle warned against. The ability to diversify and customize portfolios based on person preference is the beat way for people to learn what investments work best for each person.
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST
I understand the risks associated with inverse and leveraged investment products. These proposed restrictions will not protect me from losing money, they will interfere with my ability to plan for my future. I should not have to pass a test before I am allowed to invest in public securities.
You should be worried about Congress using insider information to enrich themselves. If the general population wants to risk THEIR money, its THEIR choice if you do this, the effort to make the rich richer while the poor have no hope will become obvious. Let them eat cake is a bad strategy
Dear Sir/Madam,
I oppose any restrictions to my right or ability to invest in leveraged and inverse funds, or other popular investments deemed to be complex. As an investor, one should understand the risk with any form of investments and have the rights to select all available public assets to invest in. Thank you.
